And for the Elections, the vTools.Voting tool is ready to support your election. Officers can use their IEEE Web Account ID and password to sign in and quickly setup an election. A tutorial is also available. Note that, based on feedback, elections typically have twice the participation when conducted electronically. Also, a beta version of the new tool to report new geographic organizational unit officers or officer changes has been released. vTools.OfficerReporting enables authorised geographic organisational unit volunteers to submit officer reporting online, providing automatic validation and updates to the central IEEE database. Volunteers can also view existing officers, enter new officers, and remove or replace existing officers. A detailed audit log tracks changes per volunteer and per organisational unit. Should you experience any issues using the beta version of the vTools.OfficerReporting, please report your issue and use the existing officer reporting form (requires Web Account) to complete your officer report. Brand new vTools user forums have been created to provide a user support engine where vTools users can post questions and receive answers, and learn best practices, tips, and tricks.
WebEx has replaced DimDim as the Web Conferencing service to geographic organizational units for online meetings, webinars, training, demos, and presentations. The WebEx service is available to MGA Board members and MGA Board Committees, as well as Region and Section Executive Committee officers. Register today to use WebEx for your next IEEE event.
The professional membership, i.e. for faculty members, is 27.50 US Dollars if they do it for the first time, starting March 2012. Check details at http://www.ieee.org/membership_services/membership/join/join_dues.html. As for starting a Chapter, go to http://www.ieee.org/societies_communities/geo_activities/forms_petitions/index.html for details. Check the attached form too. PROCOM.net
PROCOM.net, an all-Pakistan programming, engineering and business competition is a step towards further enforcing the commitment of FAST-NU for the development of Information Technology and Engineering Science related fields in Pakistan.
Taking the tradition a step ahead right from 1998, when it first saw dawn, we have 19 competitions lined up ranging from programming competitions, robots wars to business ideas competitions with teams coming in from all over Pakistan and from institutions abroad.
It is an initiative to bring out the capabilities of the students and provide them a platform for competition to nurture their expertise. It is the place where Academia meets Industry and vice versa - the bridge that bridges this gap. The number of graduate placements occurring in this event is commendable.
